WWE SmackDown Winners And Grades

Naomi Def. Chelsea Green

Fans were lit in SmackDown, but being an overseas crowd, they seemed more into Bayley than they were into this match. In fact, fans were much more into Bayley than they were Chelsea Green.

Naomi did a good job getting the crowd on her side rather than allowing them to continue to focus on Bayley.

Per usual, Chelsea came up short. This suggests suggests there’s an outside chance that Piper Niven wins tomorrow in her home country.

Naomi vs. Chelsea Green Grade: B-

The Grayson Waller Effect

Grayson Waller trolled the Scotland crowd by telling them he couldn’t understand them.

Tensions only continued to rise between Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. DIY instigated these tensions by reminding Austin Theory that Waller doesn’t have his best interests in WWE Raw.

Given how this segment went, with Waller once again sacrificing Theory, there’s a strong chance DIY wins the Tag Team Championships and Waller finally turns on Theory.

The Grayson Waller Effect Grade: B

Santos Escobar Def. Apollo Crews

Baron Corbin was inserted into this basic match as he begins a new feud with Legado del Fantasma.

Santos Escobar had a solid match against Apollo Crews, however the most over individual in or near this match was Baron Corbin.

Despite Corbin’s help, Escobar prevailed with heel tactics such as outside interference from Legado del Fantasma.

Santos Escobar vs. Apollo Crews Grade: B

Cody Rhodes Confronts AJ Styles

Cody Rhodes was interrupted by entertaining sing-song chants of “Cody Rhodes.”

Rhodes was interrupted by AJ Styles and The O.C., however the time cue was off.

Fans continued to loudly chant for Cody during Styles’ promo, to where he had to stop talking. Rhodes tried to interject, but he was cut off, too.

AJ Styles made references to NJPW, ROH and a veiled reference to AEW, which actually received gasps from this crowd.

Rhodes made a direct reference to Mark Henry by telling Styles he “had to be Mark Henry for a night” to get a rematch for the WWE Championship.

Cody Rhodes said the term “I Quit” multiple times, which opens the door for the Mick Foley-Rock finish from Royal Rumble 1999 where a pre-recorded version of “I Quit” cost Foley the match.

Backstage, The Bloodline (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) attacked The Street Profits.

Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles Segment Grade: A

Carmelo Hayes Declares For Money In The Bank

In an on-location segment, LA Knight showed up to Logan Paul’s house and hug out in his pool. Knight was promptly kicked out without any physical activity. Sidebar: Logan Paul “got his ass handed to him by a bunch of 14-year-olds” in his Tetris tournament.

Carmelo Hayes cut a promo from within the crowd where he took a shot at Scotland by saying Puerto Rico (where Paul lives) is better than Scotland.

This was the second in-the-crowd promo from a WWE Superstar declaring for Money in the bank. The first came from Jey Uso.

Carmelo Hayes Segment: B

Soko Sikoa Def. Kevin Owens

Prior to this match, The Bloodline was banned from ringside. Given reports of WWE trademarking the term “Talla Tonga,” Hikuleo is likely to debut.

Solo Sikoa warned Paul Heyman that he was going to come for Heyman if he lost.

Kevin Owens donned a “Scotland 3:16” t-shirt, but not before wearing an Eddie Guerrero-Scarface t-shirt in an earlier segment. This man is a homage machine.

This Scotland crowd was awesome as they remained just as fired up for the main event as they did for they did for the opener. Their energy rarely lapsed, and they were way into KO.

Following a Stunner, a desperate Paul Heyman placed Solo’s leg on the bottom rope. Solo followed up with a Samoan Spike on the distracted Kevin Owens for the win.

A great touch of The Bloodline is Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa violently throw each other off of the opposition as they take turns beating them up. Similar to The Usos.

Randy Orton made a surprise appearance to come to Owens’ aid and ran through The Bloodline. The pop was so loud I could barely hear his music.

Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa Grade: B+
