Bebe Rexha And G-Eazy Feud Explained: She’s Not Backing Down After Slamming Him In Since-Deleted Posts

Following

Topline

After calling rapper G-Eazy a “stuck up ungrateful loser” in a since-deleted Instagram story post on Thursday, singer Bebe Rexha—who has collaborated with the rapper multiple times—said she regrets deleting the post, and shared another Instagram story on Friday seemingly standing behind her comments.

Key Facts

In a since-deleted Instagram story posted Thursday, singer Bebe Rexha slammed G-Eazy by calling him a “stuck up ungrateful loser,” adding she could elaborate on all the “s—-ty things you've done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit.”

Rexha posted a screenshot of messages between her and her team asking if she’d be open to potentially shooting some social media content with G-Eazy, which led to her tagging the rapper and telling him he has her number before saying “btw the answer is no.”

However, she shared in a post on X—formerly known as Twitter— that her team told her to remove the Instagram story post, and “trauma” caused her to react that way, though she “[regrets] taking it down and I want to say that I still stand by what I said.”

Rexha seemingly stood behind her Thursday post again after sharing an Instagram story on Friday of her sipping a drink to her song “I’m the Drama,” with the caption “I said what I said.”

Forbes has reached out to representatives for Bebe Rexha and G-Eazy for comment.

Key Background

Rexha and G-Eazy have collaborated twice: once in 2015 and again in 2017. The duo collaborated in 2015 on their hit song “Me, Myself & I” in 2015, which peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and stayed on for 37 weeks. It’s the rapper’s second highest charting song after the 2017 song “No Limit” featuring Cardi B and A$AP Rocky peaked at No. 4. The pair collaborated again in 2017 on Rexha’s song “F.F.F.” from her album “All Your Fault Pt.1.” The album reached No. 51 on the Billboard 200. It’s unclear when Rexha and G-Eazy’s relationship turned sour, but the singer shared an incident she had with the rapper in 2018 on “Watch What Happens Live.” When asked if she was still on good terms with G-Eazy after he performed “Me, Myself & I” at the 2016 MTV Music Awards with Britney Spears instead of her, Rexha said she was “still tight” with G-Eazy. However, she said she found out about the performance “last minute because they were scared I wasn’t going to clear it, because that was bull… But I was a little shocked by him because I thought that he would let me know, and I was upset by it.”

Tangent

Rexha reposted a picture of her and singer Halsey on X posted by a fan with the caption “Bebe Rexha and Halsey talking about how they carried G-Eazy’s career.” Halsey and G-Eazy previously dated in 2017 before separating in 2018. Halsey made an Instagram story post in 2018 confirming their breakup, saying the couple is “taking some time apart.” Fans have speculated the rapper cheated on Halsey after she performed her song “Without Me,” which the singer confirmed was about G-Eazy, in 2019 on “Saturday Night Live” with the words “Ashley, I cheated” on the wall behind her. Halsey’s real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane. Halsey and G-Eazy’s 2017 song “Him & I” peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.
