If you enjoy supernatural stories and solving mysteries, then Netflix’s newest Korean reality show Agents of Mystery offers the best of both worlds.

Created by Jung Jong-yeon—who also produced the popular K-reality programs The Genius (which was adapted in the UK and the Netherlands), Society Game, The Great Escape and The Devil’s PlanAgents of Mystery follows a team of six investigators as they set out to solve bizarre, paranormal cases. The investigators are played by famous Korean celebrities, each of whom brings his or her own unique strengths to the group.

Agents of Mystery is just the latest addition to Netflix’s slate of Korean unscripted series, which include global hits like Single’s Inferno and Physical: 100.

What Is Agents Of Mystery About?

Six agents are sent to secret locations to investigate seemingly inexplicable cases. They must solve each mystery within six hours to successfully complete their mission, testing the limits of their teamwork, ingenuity and problem-solving skills.

Expect a lot of shrieking, screaming and laughing as the motley crew tracks down clues and uncovers strange phenomena along the way.

Who Is In Agents Of Mystery?

The six agents are played by Korean celebrities from various fields of entertainment. They are:

  • Lee Yong-jin: The veteran comedian, singer and reality TV star—best known for his role in the sketch comedy show Comedy Big League—leads the team in their investigations with his characteristic humor and strategic acumen.

  • Karina: The leader and oldest member of the popular K-pop girl group aespa finds herself in the unusual position of being the youngest agent on the squad. Nevertheless, she demonstrates her worth through her courage and resourcefulness, finding and grabbing whatever items might help her team and its investigation.

  • Kim Do-hoon: K-drama fans might recognize him from the hit Disney+ series Moving, where he plays a high school student who’s inherited superhuman speed and strength from his mentally disabled father. Here he shows himself to be a proactive and reliable team member who gets things done.

  • Lee Eun-ji: Known for appearing in a host of popular Korean reality shows like Earth Arcade, Miss Trot, Mr. Trot, I Can See Your Voice and countless others, comedian Lee Eun-ji won the Best Female Entertainer award at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards. Her bubbly personality and sharp sense of humor help keep her team’s morale high.

  • John Park: After finishing as a semi-finalist on American Idol back in 2010 and as the runner-up in the Korean singing competition Superstar K2, Korean-American artist John Park has since established himself as a popular singer-songwriter and reality TV star in South Korea. Dubbed the “brains” of the investigation team, he coolly and expertly deciphers key clues to help the gang crack complex cases.

  • Lee Hye-ri: Best known for her leading role in the K-drama classic Reply 1988 and as a member of K-pop group Girl’s Day, Lee Hye-ri showcases her quick thinking and intense focus as she unearths helpful clues in the investigation and proves herself to be the most versatile member on the team.
