It is the peak of summer (literally; the summer solstice just passed) and it is hot outside. There is nothing I would rather be doing right now than sitting out by the pool and sporting a chic new swimsuit, and I am sure I’m not the only one feeling that way.
Seeking to step up your swimwear game? I’ve gathered up some of the biggest swimwear trends of the season so you can roll up to the pool or the beach in on-trend fashion. And don’t just take my word for it! I’ve also spoken to a few of the creatives behind these brands to get their takes on the hottest trends, too!
Bold Prints
For those of you who love fun prints and patterns, you are in luck! According to Summer Of 78 founder Summer Rapp, prints are back in a big way. “I am very excited that prints are coming back around,” she shared. “Summer of 78 has a beautiful seventies-inspired leopard print” which I’ve highlighted below. Rapp continued, “You will also start to see our brand expand into more timeless prints and patterns in 2025 thanks to this trend!”

Sculpted One-Pieces
One-piece swimsuits can be a daunting experience for many, which is why it is so amazing that brands have really invested in making sure their swimwear, and their one-pieces especially, are flattering and comfortable. The three sisters behind Naked Wardrobe, Shirin, Shida, and Shideh Kaviani, agree that a good one-piece swimsuit that “contours and shapes your body” makes women feel powerful and confident in their swimwear. “With our swim, it was about creating great technology within our textiles,” explained Naked Wardrobe President & Head of Design Shideh Kaviani, “so that once it was on the body, it shaped and contoured you and made you feel amazing.”

Accessories For Your Swimwear
If your swimsuit needs some extra embellishment, now it is easier than ever to decorate your bikini. Brands like Dorne are creating fun charms and swim-proof jewelry that let your bring your bling beachside. Dorne founder Erika Rayman shared that her bikini charms “allow you to express your unique sense of style on a basic bikini, transforming it into something truly personal.” Rayman noted that the charms can be used “to customize not only swimsuits but also evening wear, bags, and necklaces, so this movement is here to stay.”

Matching With Your Cover-Up
There is nothing more stylish than a fully coordinated look, even at the beach, and GIGI C Co-Founder, CEO, and Creative Director Gianna “Gigi” Caruso couldn’t agree more. “The latest swimwear trend I love is monochromatic cover-up pieces that perfectly match your swimsuit,” she shared. “It is so easy to throw on a cover-up in the same color and fabric as your swimsuit for a polished look.”
Caruso noted that the coordinated look makes for easy packing, saying that “when packing for a vacation, you don’t even have to think twice!” She recommends GIGI C’s Ruby top, Eva Bottom, and Maya dress as perfect examples of this trend.

Western-Inspired Sun Protection
Everyone is going country this year, so why not take some style inspiration from cowboys too? Sun protection is a must when venturing outside this summer, and I have noticed that straw hats are the new go-to from sun-seeking fashionistas everywhere this year.

High-Contrast Details
With 2024’s classic prep style resurgence, I have been noticing a lot of clothing, and swimwear in particular, with contrast outlining that creates a chic look. I’m not alone in loving this trend, either. “I’m loving the minimalistic contrast trend for this summer,” shared MARYSIA founder Marysia Dobrzanska Reeves.

Gold Hardware
A cool pop of metallic hardware can elevate even the most minimal of swimsuit designs. Jade Swim is known for their classic styles in cool colors, but for this season, they’ve kicked things up a notch with the addition of gold details. “We kept our minimal silhouettes and overall aesthetic but added gold shaped U rings to accent the looks,” Jade Swim founder and designer Brittany Kozerski Freeney shared.
