Real Madrid star Rodrygo's father is listening to offers for his son according to OK Diario, whose director Eduardo Inda cited anonymous sources when appearing on El Chiringuito.
Rodrygo joined Madrid from boyhood club Santos in 2019, but has recently been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu because of the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Brazil teammate Endrick.
Mbappe's free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain was finally announced at the start of this month, while a deal with Palmeiras that could reach north of $60 million for Endrick was hashed out in late 2022.
In Madrid's most recent campaign, which brought an impressive treble to the Spanish capital, Rodrygo was an undisputed starter alongside his compatriot Vinicius, as head coach Carlo Ancelotti fielded a pair of wingers as his strikers in lieu of a natural number 9.
With Mbappe and Endrick joining the squad, however, Rodrygo's standing moving forward is less clear, and the player's father has doubts about it according to Inda.
"I said that Rodrygo Goes had offers from Liverpool and that he is also liked by City. They tell me that the one who is moving the player is his father. The father does not have [it clear] that he will be as much a starter as he has been this season," Inda explained.
"There is also talk at Real Madrid that Mbappe plays as a center forward, [with] Rodrygo on the right and Vinicius on the left, but Kylian does not like to play in the center very much.
"The father is the one who has doubts. Rodrygo is very popular at the top [of the club for] his personal behaviour inside and outside the dressing room. These operations also depend on the month of July, August...," Inda trailed off, before concluding that the summer "is very long".
That's true, and it wouldn't be a major surprise to see Rodrygo perhaps head north to England and the Premier League.
Tied down to a contract until 2028, he would cost something well past the $100 million mark which is affordable for the likes of City and Liverpool.
