20 Cocktails Perfect For Honoring That Special Woman In Your Life On Mother’s Day

Following

Toast to the mother figure in your life this Mother’s Day with these cocktails almost as beautiful as their special inspirations.

The Rita

Served at Odd Sister NYC in New York City, this cocktail is made with Pinot Noir and strawberry syrup combined in a shaker with ice and then garnished with a lemon slice and thyme. “The Rita, has become a popular signature cocktail at Odd Sister. Pinot Noir and strawberry base, with flavors of sherry and thyme. This refreshing infusion was inspired by some of my grandmother's favorites. Making this a sentimental touch to the menu, along with being the perfect Mother’s Day cocktail at Odd Sister!” said Clodagh Culkin, Odd Sister Managing Partner.

Pink Flower

This drink is bright and pretty, just like the woman being honored. At all bars onboard Crystal cruise line, the Pink Flower is made with Tanqueray Gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, fresh pink grapefruit juice, sugar syrup and grapefruit, for garnish.

Lavender Lady

Found at Proper Grit Whiskey Library & Supper Club at The Ben West Palm, Autograph Collection, this cocktail is made with Chambord, lemon juice, lavender and rosemary infused syrup, and sparkling Rose. “Crafting the Lavender Lady was a journey inspired by the timeless elegance of the Kir Royale cocktail; an elevated champagne cocktail that differs from the standard mimosa or bellini order, especially fitting for special occasions such as Mother's Day. Infused with delicate notes of lavender and rosemary, each sip is a fragrant embrace, in an effort to complement the bouquets of flowers gifted on this holiday. The rest of the cocktail presents a perfect harmony of black raspberry tannins, bright lemon zest, and sparkling rose, evoking a true sense of celebration in every glass. To elevate the experience further, the cocktail is garnished with a lavender glitter powder made from dried lavender buds, indulging your taste buds and sense of smell with each sip,” said Randy Castillo, mixologist.

Parasol Spritz

On the menu at KIKI’S in La Quinta, California, this cocktail is made with Aperol Aperitivo, Grey Goose Vodka, heirloom pineapple Amaro, fresh lemon juice, and finished with Prosecco. The cocktail is then garnished with a slice of orange with edible gold coated and a Parasol straw. “An Aperol Spritz by any other name wouldn't sound as sparkling. So, like a soliloquy we announce our flavors, with a fresh french canvas of Grey Goose. Then, tea and tart tropical tones hit our taste buds with a Pineapple Amaro. Right behind, we add the dancing nancies of effervescence wine. Ingeniously we parasol a straw that blocks the incandescent sun that tries to spoil mother's fun. Dainty and delish gold can be, sitting on an Orange slice awaiting whatever mother's needs may be,” said Joshua Lucas, mixologist.

Riviera Rosé

At LPM Restaurant & Bar at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Riviera Rosé features a flower sprig nestled in a concoction of Tanqueray gin, Côtes de Provence Rosé and orange blossom.“The Riviera Rosé is a delicate, fruity and floral variation on the Spritz, low on ABV% but full of character and complexity. It’s a special cocktail by LPM for Mother’s Day as a vibrant alternative to the classic Aperol Spritz with a beautiful pink hue and refreshing flavors to celebrate the moms in our lives,” said Barna Jeremias, Bar Manager for LPM Restaurant & Bar.

Diane Mina’s “Classic” Mother’s Day Bloody Mary

At MICHAEL MINA Bellagio, this take on the classic Bloody Mary is savory and spicy, featuring Diane’s Original Bloody Mary Mix and Ketel One Vodka, garnished with a skewer of lemon, lime, a cherry tomato and Spanish queen olives rimmed with ground organic celery seed, rainbow peppercorns and a dash of Tajin seasoning. “Husband-and-wife duo Chef Michael and his wife Diane have come together to provide a special brunch experience featuring Diane’s Bloody Mary alongside Chef’s incredible brunch menu. We’re looking forward to welcoming all the amazing Mothers to enjoy a Diane’s Bloody Mary along with a memorable meal. They deserve it!” said Justin Wolf, General Manager.

Passionfruit Garibaldi

At L’Amico in New York City, this is a cocktail both refreshing and vibrant for Mother’s Day, combining the tangy flavors of passion fruit with the slight bitterness of Campari and a bit of tart sweetness via orange juice. “With its vivid orange hue and frothy top this delicious brunch cocktail lends credence to the axiom that we taste first with our eyes,” said Jason Hedges, Beverage Director at Laurent Tourondel Hospitality.

Mastiha Limoncello

At Kosmos in the Boston area, this cocktail is made with Mastiha, lemon, and sugar. "Our secret menu which is only available via word of mouth is a sweet alternative to an easy-to-make at home Mother's Day cocktail. Each sip is a journey through the aromatic landscapes of the Mediterranean,” said Stavros Petropulos, General Manager and co-owner at Kosmos.

Tequila Espresso Martini

At Centro Mexican Kitchen in Boulder, Colorado, this cocktail is made with Suerte reposado tequila, black coffee liqueur, Arrosta Coffee Liqueur, Kahlúa, and finely ground espresso garnish. "Moms work some LONG hours so it feels apropos to feature something with caffeine and a nice tequila kick,” said Zachary Fishburn, front of house manager at Centro.

Mom’s Margarita

Good Burgers in the DMV, this cocktail is made with Jose Cuervo Silver, orange liqueur, strawberry and house margarita mix. “This mighty margarita is inspired by all the strong moms we celebrate every day, but especially on Mother’s Day! The Viola

At The Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, Vermont, the Viola is made with Barr Hill Gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, served in a rocks glass with purple ice cube and edible flower. “When I was little I would go on nature walks with my grandmother and she would love to pick wildflowers. I always tried to gather the purple ones. This drink is something I feel my grandmother would love! I feel an extra connection to it because we use our purple Viola flowers and purple ice made from purple vegetables grown in the resort’s own certified Organic Kelly Way Gardens,” said Zachary Steinhart, Food & Beverage Supervisor.

Asmodeus’ Obsession

At etc., in Nashville, this cocktail is made with Nelson bros. bourbon, orange blossom syrup, lemon, orange juice, and angostura bitters. "This drink is balanced just like Mom. The delicate orange blossom syrup balances out the spiciness of the bourbon, and the tartness of the citrus is balanced with the sweetness of the simple syrup. Whose mom wasn't that perfect blend of strong when she needed to be, gentle when we needed her to be, and—often—doing both of those perfectly at the same time? Trust me: if you made it out of high school, then your mom embodied both of these traits,” said Ali Buchanan of the etc. marketing team.

Miss Nelly

Found at Shoma Bazaar in Miami, this cocktail is made with Stoli Blueberry Vodka, coconut puree, black cherry syrup on the bottom, and garnished with mint and black cherry. “This unique blend .... captures the essence of Mom: Sweet, strong and simply irresistible,” says Stephanie Shojaee, President of Shoma Group. “This cocktail is extra special to me because it is named after my own Mom – my warrior with a heart of gold.”

Rose-Colored Blindfold

At Heirloom in Nashville, this is a fun twist on an Aperol Spritz, a carbonated cocktail that combines Aperol with strawberry, lemon, orange, and a punch of tequila. “There’s no better way to celebrate mom than with a summer Aperol Spritz, but I wanted to add more flavor and depth to the popular provision. Strawberry and orange juice compliment Aperol perfectly, and the touch of lemon adds acidity. I made it a little more robust with a pour of tequila to top it off. The whole drink is then carbonated for the effervescence of a spritz,” said Ryan Puckett, Area Beverage Director, Heirloom at Holston House.

Supermom Spritz

At Revivalist in Huntsville, Alabama, this drink is made with mixed berries, St. Germain and prosecco. “The inspiration for this cocktail comes from all the good memories with our mothers. Put that all together, and you’ve got a supermom. Cheers!” said Cody Sowell, Food & Beverage Manager, Revivalist at 106 Jefferson.

"'Mrs. Hibiscus' is one of our favorite cocktails and delightful for Mother's Day. It's refreshing and lightly floral, with a graceful pink tint and pop of sunny color from a fresh twist of lemon. 'Mrs. Hibiscus' is a charming choice to celebrate the special women in our lives,” said Stephen Simon, Managing Partner.
