Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2024: Where To Eat And Drink At The Race

Following

From May 3 to 5, 2024, the Formula 1 Grand Prix will return to the Miami International Autodrome, for its third year— a 19-turn, 3.36-mile track, next to the Hard Rock Stadium. Last year, 270,491 fans were in attendance, and this year, more are to be expected— especially with the launch of the F1 Academy — the series created to develop and prepare female drivers, from the ages of 16 to 25, to progress to higher levels of motorsport competition.

Asides from the race, the action-packed affair will have live performances (Marc Anthony, Ed Sheeran and Kaytranada to name a few), and of course, plenty of food and beverage options. Over 65 restaurants and hospitality experiences will be at the campus this year, serving a variety of cuisines, most of them homegrown— an opportunity for visitors to experience local Miami flavors and culture.

James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz of the Genuine Hospitality Group will be having two activations this year. At the Start/ Finish Suites, they will be offering the Brazilian-style seafood stew, moqueca; shrimp toast bánh mì; and brown butter lobster roll, to name a few. At the West Lawn, they will be serving an assortment of pizzas from Harry’s Pizzeria that include classic cheese, pepperoni and mushroom truffle; as well as cocktails like watermelon margarita and a cucumber vodka refresh. "I always appreciate involvement of representing the culinary landscape of Miami especially on such an international stage,” Schwartz shares.

An omakase at the race? Yes! At The Concours Club Lounge, a 10,000 sq. ft. space at the Hard Rock Stadium, on Turn 3— James Beard-nominated chef Brad Kilgore will be doing daily 30-minute seatings, serving up six courses that include blue fin tuna nigiri, torched salmon belly, Hokkaido uni with shoyu, to name a few. In addition, Kilgore will also be offering a buffet spread, which will include a raw bar and a carving station, where he will be changing specials each day. “I believe food is best when it’s served fresh so we are taking a fresher approach and cooking à la minute for most of our offerings,” he shares. “At The Concours Club, we are famous for our burger, which we call the ‘Pit Stop Burger,’ as a member said he was willing to take a pit stop on his plane in order to eat it because he liked it so much. We will be cooking that burger with real Perigord Black truffle fries to order as our members will be able to order from their phones.” Kilgore will also be doing a pop-up with local favorite Wolf of Tacos during peak hours on both Saturday and Sunday.

Guests can expect three concepts from James Beard-nominated chef José Mendin: Pubbelly Sushi, June Burgers, and HitchiHaika— all of which will be located at the West Lawn Food Hall. “HitchiHaika will offer up a variety of gyoza dumplings like shrimp al ajillo, chicken carbonara, and pork lechon,” Mendin discloses. “At Pubbelly Sushi, it's all about our famous butter krab roll, tostones con ceviche, and the classic big eye tuna, along with other tasty bites. June Burger will serve three delicious burgers, plus the option to add some delicious waffle fries.”

Karla Hoyos, known by many for her remarkable efforts as a longtime World Central Kitchen disaster relief chef, will be participating for the third year with her Mexican concept Tacotomia, which will be at West Lawn once again. “This year, guests can expect an even deeper exploration of Mexican flavors, with a blend of traditional favorites and innovative twists,” Hoyos shares. “We’re excited to unveil some new creations that showcase the richness and diversity of Mexican gastronomy— from chicken sopes to octopus quesadillas, perfectly complemented by melted cheese and traditional spices.” For those with a sweet tooth, Hoyos recommends their churros cupcakes, which combines “the beloved flavors of cinnamon and sugar with a decadent cupcake base.”

Over at the F1 Paddock Club, Flor de Caña rum will be hosting an exclusive suite offering views of the starting grid and finish line. Specialty cocktails for the weekend will include a Spicy Daquiri, Flor Spresso Martini, a Flor Spritz, and a cask barrel tasting experience, which guests can enjoy with truffle cappellacci, beef and herbed pork filet, and grilled mahi mahi.

At Casa Ferrari, located at Turn 5, guests can enjoy daily hospitality offerings prepared by Ferrari USA and Lucciola executive chef Michele Casadei Massari; Una Pizza Napoletana’s Anthony Mangieri; Cielito Artisan Pops; and Miami Fresh Coconut Bar; along with beats by DJ Brendan Fallis— all of which are co-produced by Interluxe Group.

Not too far down is Casa Tua’s Trackside Club, at Turns 1 and 2. Guests can relax at the shaded, open-air, climate-controlled lounge with a front row view of cars exiting the pit lane and re-entering the circuit.

Guests can also expect delicious offerings from James Beard-award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein’s Sweet Liberty; Cesar Zapata and Ani Meinhold’s Bib Gourmand concept Phuc Yea, as well as from other local Miami concepts.

Ten homegrown Florida-based food trucks, caterers and small businesses will also be serving their specialties, supported by the team at Sodexo Live!, the Campus’ hospitality partner. This year’s Community Restaurant Program partners include: Drinks on Me 305, Food Junkies, Soulfly, La Vela Coffee, Italian Vice, Reggae Beets, House of Flava, Conch Crazy, Pretty Healthy Café and Best French Fries.

A Best of the Best Dinner During The Formula 1 Weekend

Diehard culinary fans will be happy to learn that the Best Restaurant in the World, Central in Lima, led by chef-owner Virgilio Martínez, will be in Miami in celebration of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, for a special collaboration dinner with three-Michelin-starred and Best of the Best honoree Osteria Francescana’s Massimo Bottura.
