$4.5 Million Glacier Mountain Ranch Embodies The Adventurous Spirit Of Montana

Following

Driving under the timbered A-frame entrance that stands at the anterior of Glacier Mountain Ranch in Montana, one could understandably believe they have just passed through the gateways into Glacier National Park. Located in Columbia Falls just 25 minutes from the actual entrance of the 1,600-square-mile national park, the architecture of Glacier Mountain Ranch bears the rustic grandeur of a wilderness welcome center.

Eighteen-inch hewn logs and stone form the estate’s main lodge at the front of the 20-acre property in the heart of Flathead Valley, surrounded by mountains bathed in alpenglow. The result is distinctly Montanan.

“Some people say it's reminiscent of a lodge in Glacier National Park,” says Sonja Burgard of National Parks Realty. “When you step onto the property, you feel like you’ve been transported to a different world.”

The resemblance, however, largely ends at the threshold of the double doors that lead into the main residence. While the motif of natural material embellishments seen in the lodge’s American Western exterior continues inside, 22-foot ceilings, open-concept layout and sizable windows place it in a context of luxury.

Recessed lighting is tucked away on cathedral ceilings, accented by massive log beams. Archways crafted out of timber walls section off the dining room and breakfast nook, both featuring dramatic views of the surrounding mountains. An impressive double-sided river rock fireplace centers the main living area.

Spanning more than 7,000 square feet, the main lodge houses six bedrooms across three levels. The remaining guest accommodations can be found throughout the various historical structures that comprise the rest of the estate.

The property’s Montana flagstone schoolhouse building is anchored by an airy flex space and topped by a two-bedroom guest apartment upstairs. A guest cabin provides two more bedrooms as well as a kitchen and living area for extended stays. For large gatherings and events, a charming barn offers covered entertainment spaces.

Adding to the scenic spectacle of the sprawling property is a one-acre pond seated at the back of the estate.

Burgard, who holds the listing along with fellow National Parks Realty agent, Mike Anderson, says that Glacier Mountain Ranch will likely attract buyers in search of a legacy property.

“Physically walking through the property there’s a feeling of excitement about exploring and adventuring while the privacy and solitude invite feelings of relaxation,” Burgard adds.

At $4.495 million, the listing for 2347 Middle Road represents the highest end of the Columbia Falls real estate market.
