Matt DiBenedetto To Run Remainder Of The Xfinity Series Schedule

Following

Matt DiBenedetto originally had a sponsor lined up to run a partial NASCAR Cup Series slate in 2024. The deal fell apart, though, and it left DiBenedetto without a ride.

However, a few weeks into the Xfinity Series season, Viking Motorsports signed the racer to a partial schedule. Now, he’s set to compete full time for the rest of the Xfinity Series season.

“I’m really pumped about our future together,” DiBenedetto said.

According to Jayski.com’s Dustin Albino, “RSS Racing prepares the No. 38 Ford out of its Georgia race shop and brings it to the track weekly. Sackett is in charge of getting the drivers.”

“We are very excited to have Matt join us for the remainder of the 2024 season and (hopefully) beyond,” Don Sackett, owner of Viking Motorsports, said in a statement. “His skill behind the wheel and his dedication to the sport make him an ideal fit for our team. We believe this partnership will not only elevate our performance on the track but also provide a platform for growth and success in the seasons to come.”

DiBenedetto has made five starts this year with the No. 38 team. His best finish is eighth at Talladega.

For the last two seasons, DiBenedetto competed full time in the Craftsman Truck Series for Rackley WAR. He won at Talladega in 2022 and qualified for the 2023 playoffs. But after he missed the second round of the playoffs, he was unexpectedly cut from the team.
