Hey, folks! Welcome to the start of a new week. I hope you’re well-rested and raring to go.
Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers are coming right up.
How To Play Connections
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like horror movie franchises, a type of verb or rappers.
There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is typically the hardest one to deduce. The purple group often involves wordplay, so bear that in mind.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers.

I'm happy to report that I extended my winning streak to five with a perfect game today.
The yellows clicked as soon as I saw COUPLE and JOIN side by side on the starting grid. I'm not too familiar with tarot, but I vaguely recalled TOWER being one of the cards to nestle alongside the other three (my main understading of tarot comes from my favorite game, Sayonara Wild Hearts).
I had to pause for a moment while putting the blue group together, as HANDFUL would have made sense there. But I figured out that was the only word of the remaining bunch that would work with the greens, so I was able to secure a mistake-free victory.

P.S. One more movie recommendation today, and like yesterday's it's a horror comedy. I'm lucky enough to live in a city that has a wonderful genre film festival. One of my very favorite filmgoing experiences was seeing One Cut of the Dead there a few years back. It's a brilliantly constructed one-take zombie film that has a lot more going on than it seems in the first 35 minutes or so.
I'd suggest watching with some friends and going into it with as little advance knowledge as possible, but here's a trailer in case it helps persuade you to check it out:
