Silversands Is Expanding Its Presence In Grenada In 2024 And Beyond

Following

Joining Silversands Resort Grand Anse, the architecturally impressive Silversands Beach House has made its debut and more openings are on the horizon.

Set on the white sand shores of Grenada’s two-mile Grand Anse beach, the original Silversands resort has long stood out as one of the island’s finest. The longest pool in the Caribbean, at 100 meters, stretches out towards the sea and indoor-outdoor dining venues place you just steps from the sand. The resort’s villas afford uninterrupted ocean views and the spa provides a tranquil setting away, complete with palm tree lined pool, from the rest of the resort.

This spring, this celebrated resort announced the opening of its brand-new sister property, Silversands Beach House, just a few minutes along the coast in its own idyllic white-sand bay, Portici Beach. Immediately, this opening has drawn attention far and wide for its distinctive white canopied design seen in its beachfront structures, backed by lush foliage, as well as in the individual villas climbing up its dramatic cliffside.

Smaller than the original Silversands resort, this luxury hideaway encompasses just 28 standalone rooms and suites, two of which have two bedrooms, alongside the Italian-inspired beachfront restaurant and bar, Azzurro, and additional guest areas including an ocean-view lounge, wellness room and, on the roof of this wellness room, an outdoor gym. A lounger-lined infinity pool backs the palm tree dotted beach.

The villa-like rooms alone are enough to tempt luxury travelers to this small bay on the island. Wood and white rooms with sweeping canopied roofs and floor-to-ceiling glass overlook the island or Caribbean Sea from their elevated position on the cliffside, or provide direct beach access from their setting on the sandy shores. Contemporary minimalist design blends with natural materials throughout each area flooded with natural light.

While guests have the option of dining on Italian-inspired plates, like Risotto al Verde or Carpaccio di Vitello (veal), at Azzurro, they can also make the most of a shuttle service between Beach House and Silversands at Grand Anse where dining options include the sophisticated high-ceilinged Asiatique restaurant serving modern Asian fusion cuisine and the beachfront Grenadian grill showcasing local ingredients. Treatments are offered in Beach House’s own wellness room, but guests are also able to spend time at the Grand Anse resort’s more extensive spa also encompassing thermal facilities and an inner courtyard pool.

As exciting as this new addition is to the island, there’s yet more to come from the Grenadian resort brand. Having acquired the site of a former hotel at the other end of Grand Anse beach, Silversands is now embarking on the development of its third beachfront resort, expected to open in 2026, and a standalone Silversands restaurant is also on the horizon for a site close to the nearby area of Port Louis, with ambitions to expand further in the future.

While you’re in Grenada, it’s worth getting to know more of this unique Caribbean island. The rugged inland hides waterfalls amid rainforest and mountains, the spices this island is so well known for are sold at Grand Anse market, and tours give visitors insight into the production of Grenadian chocolate and rum. Historic sites, such as Fort George, tell stories of this island’s past and an underwater sculpture park lies on the ocean floor off the coast of Moliniere Point. Day trips also take visitors over to Grenada’s neighbor, the smaller island of Carriacou.
