WiiM Launches Ultra And Amp Pro Launched At High-End Munich Show

Following

Streaming audio specialist WiiM continues to make waves with the launch of two more products at the High-End Munich Show, the exhibition of the kind of audio some of us can only dream of.

Fortunately, WiiM’s range of streaming devices aren’t outrageously priced and these two new products are no exception. The launch of the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Pro follow the announcement of WiiM’s popular audiophile-grade streamers and amplifier products last year, now in their most upgraded forms.

The WiiM Ultra has been designed to provide great audio with a range of functions, connectivity and high performance. It features a 3.5-inch full-color touchscreen, a physical volume knob, plus a selection of new audio inputs and outputs.

The device can also connect with a large selection of devices including turntables, TVs, headphones, AV receivers, subwoofers, smart speakers, Bluetooth headsets and more. With advanced high-resolution audio capabilities, the WiiM Ultra lets users access hi-res music, podcasts and audiobooks. The device integrates with popular streaming services and supports multiple audio formats.

The upgraded specs of the new WiiM Ultra include a wide choice of audio inputs and outputs, including HDMI ARC, Line-In, Phono-in and Optical Inputs, along with Line-Out, Optical, Coaxial, USB, Subwoofer and a dedicated headphone output port. The streamer uses a 32-bit/384kHz ES9038 Q2M SABRE DAC and is equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

House in an aluminum case with a new 3.5-inch touchscreen, the display shows large album pictures, playback control, playing queue, presets, EQ, audio input and output, and device settings. The WiiM Ultra also has built-in room correction technology that precisely measures the acoustics of a room and makes customized corrections for speakers and subwoofer.

The WiiM Amp Pro is the second product launching at High-End Munich. It is an upgraded version of WiiM’s first model which was launched in late 2023. Changes have been made based on customer feedback by using high-performance components, advanced signal processing and enhanced wireless connectivity. Users of the WiiM Amp Pro can integrate the device with classic passive speakers, a TV set up or a vintage record player.

The amplifier has a compact form factor and has undergone some minor cosmetic updates to the knobs, buttons, status LED and volume LEDs and metal rear, as well as redesigned internal circuits. The WiiM Amp Pro uses Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless streaming. The integrated amp has an output of 60W per channel into 8Ω (or 120 Watts per channel at 4Ω). It can power up to four speakers and has an additional post-filter feedback (PFFB) loop. The DAC is a 32-bit/384kHz ES9038 Q2M SABRE DAC and TI TPA3255 Class-D amplifier.

Users can control their streaming preferences by using the WiiM Home app or there is support for voice assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Google. The WiiM Voice Remote controller provides another alternative to wireless control for WiiM products. The WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro can cast music from any music app using Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. Finally, both devices support streaming from Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, TIDAL, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, SoundCloud, and others.

Pricing & Availability: The WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Pro will be available for purchase in Q3. Both products will be sold through Amazon and select retail partners The WiiM Ultra is priced at $329 while the WiiM Amp Pro sells for $369.
