8 Enviable Green Timepieces From Watches And Wonders 2024

Following

If you didn’t suspect that green would be a highlight color in watches for the year 2024, a look around Watches and Wonders Geneva certainly underscored the notion. Green dials and straps abounded—gracing sport watches, dress watches, daily-wear watches and even complicated watches. What’s more, the shades ranged widely—from acid, lime and citrus to pale mint, sage or seafoam green, bold grass green, racing-inspired green, fir-tree green and vintage olive and army green. While this wasn’t the only color highlighted at this year’s much-anticipated event, it was definitely a mainstay trend. Here we take a look at eight exceptional green timepieces that made their debut during the week in Geneva.

A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold Lumen

In its daytime-wear look, the new A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold Lumen watch offers a smokey gray/black appeal that is, in and of itself, incredibly alluring thanks to the sapphire dial plate and skeletonized movement combination. But the sixth watch in the brand’s beloved Lumen series, this new timepiece glows bright green when exposed to light thanks to its light-powered technology. The luminous aspects: day, date and moth disks, chronograph subsidiary dials, hands and accents, as well as the moon and stars. Powered by an in-house-made manually wound caliber (L952.4), the watch offers tourbillon escapement, hacking seconds, flyback chronograph, minute counter, perpetual calendar and big date—all wrapped up in the brand’s proprietary Honey Gold. Just 50 pieces of the 41.5mm watch will be made.

Carl F. Bucherer Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral

This year, Carl F. Bucherer releases its beloved patented Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral watch in bold new colors with exquisite laser-created dials and gem-set bezels. Easily the standout timepiece is the bright green version. The dial is made using a high-tech laser procedure that creates individual triangles in three-dimensional beauty, complete with peaks and valleys. The top of the triangles are lighter in hue, while the base, the crevices between the pyramids, is darker. The brilliant dial boasts a large aperture at 12:00 to display the Tourbillon and the timepiece is powered by the brand’s patented double peripheral automatic winding technology in the Caliber CFB T3000. The bezel is set with 4.7 carats of tsavorites. Each watch measures 43 mm in diameter and is crafted in 18-karat gold and finished with a color-coordinated sustainable strap made from PET materials. $158,500.

Cartier Santos Arabic

Crafted in platinum, the new Cartier Santos Arabic watch is all about telling time elegantly. The rich green dial is offset with dark green bezel and accents for a look that is urban chic and pure retro in styling. The watch, with sword hands, is finished with a matching green alligator strap. It measures a highly wearable 39.5mm in diameter and is powered by the Cartier 430 MC mechanical movement with 43 hours of power reserve. $21,900.

Chopard L.U.C XPS

With the “S” in the name denoting the subsidiary small seconds dial at 6:00, the ultra-thin XPS watch could easily be a sporty chic piece. A classic watch with a vintage-green hued sector dial, the L.U.C XPS is crafted from Lucent Steel, the brand’s proprietary steel that is made using at least 80 percent recycled steel. The sector dial – with two concentric rings, one each that showcases the hours and minutes – is a mesmerizing hue. The 40mm watch is powered by the brand’s in-house automatic caliber L.U.C 96.12-L certified chronometer. It offers 65 hours of power reserve. $11,800.

Grand Seiko SLGH021

Sporty yet definitively chic, the newest Grand Seiko SLGH021 reference is a 40mm watch crafted in the brand’s Ever-Brilliant Stainless Steel. A higher grade steel, Ever-Brilliant is both scratch and corrosion resistant. The dial of this watch is a green/aqua/blue hew that recalls the Genbi Valley in the Iwate Prefecture in Japan, nearby Grand Seiko’s workshops. The pattern on the dial is made using a special molding technique. The watch is powered by the Caliber 9SA5 automatic high-beat movement made totally in house and equipped with Grand Seiko’s Dual-Impulse Escapement. Just 1,000 pieces will be made. $10,400.

H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green

The H. Moser Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green watch epitomizes bold style and cutting-edge horology. Clad in robust steel, its 42.8mm case exudes strength and resilience. The highlight: the vibrant Citrus Green fumé dial. Bright lime tones steal the limelight, dancing across the face and casting a mesmerizing glow that captivates the eye. Beneath the surface, is the HMC 201 movement that strips away unnecessary complexities to focus on the purest elements: hours, minutes, and seconds. The incorporation of an automatic winding system ensures seamless functionality, effortlessly converting the wearer's movements into energy. In the darkness, the watch doesn't falter. Super-LumiNova® illuminates key elements, providing clarity even in the depths of night. It is finished with a rubber strap. $15,900.

Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Petite Second

Easily one of the showstoppers of Watches and Wonders Geneva is the new Parmigiani Toric series with superb classic appeal and rich elegance. The new Petite Second model with sage green dial is a vision of retro chic with clean looks and rich hues. Crafted in platinum, the version with sage green dial measures 40.6 mm in diameter and is finished with a burnished white gator strap. The watch is powered by the brand’s PF789 manually wound calendar. $55,900.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas

This year, Vacheron Constantin embraces color across all of its lines, but none so beautifully as the verdant green used in its four new Overseas watches. All four versions are crafted in 18-karat rose gold and boast rich sunburst gradient green lacquer dials. The models include a chronograph, dual-timer, and date versions – including one with a diamond-set bezel. Sizes range from 42.5mm for the chronograph to 41mm for the Dual Time and the self-winding Date version is offered in 41mm without diamonds and in 35mm with diamonds. Additionally, a solid gold bracelet is offered, as are color-coordinated green rubber and calfskin straps that are interchangeable.
