‘Ordinary Angels’ Is New On Blu-Ray And DVD. When Is It Coming To Streaming?

Following

Ordinary Angels — Alan Ritchson and Hilary Swank’s faith-based movie — is new on Blu-ray and DVD while the inspirational real-life drama awaits its streaming video on demand release date. There are other ways, though, to see it online before it hits SVOD.

Ordinary Angels opened in theaters domestically on February 23, earning more than $19.1 million in theaters domestically and more than $300,000 in international release for a combined worldwide box office total of $19.4 million.

Based on true events that transpired between 1993 and 1994, Ordinary Angels tells how a small-town Kentucky hairdresser, Sharon Stevens (Swank), rallies her community around the desperate needs of Ed Schmitt (Reacher star Ritchson) and his two daughters, Ashley (Skywalker Hughes) and Michelle (Emily Mitchell).

Having recently lost his wife and the girl’s mother to a rare disease, Ed is not only wallowing in hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical debt, but his youngest daughter, Michelle, is a desperate need of a liver transplant.

Determined to raise enough money to get Michelle her transplant and Ed out of his crippling debt, Sharon is resolute in seeing both things happen, even as she struggles with personal issues of her own. The problem is, that time is running out quickly for Michelle to get her transplant, so several more community members step forward to help — even in the smallest ways — to help save the young girl’s life.

Ordinary Angels made its debut on Blu-ray and DVD on April 30 and is being sold by such online retailers as Amazon, which is also renting it digitally. In addition, the Blu-ray and DVD is available in stores or can be purchased online at Target and Walmart.

Two options are currently available for the physical copy of Ordinary Angels. Consumers can buy a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy combo pack for anywhere from $19.99 to $24.99, depending on the retailer or just the DVD copy for $19.99.

The Digital Price For ‘Ordinary Angels’ Has Been Significantly Reduced

The SVOD and streaming platform that Ordinary Angels will debut on have not yet been announced. According to Coming Soon (via Yahoo!), Ordinary Angels is estimated to debut on SVOD in August.

Until then, Ordinary Angels can be rented or purchased on such online platforms as AppleTV+, VUDU and Amazon for significantly cheaper than it was when the movie made its premium video on demand debut in late March.

Originally available for rent for $19.99 for rent and $24.99 for purchase, Ordinary Angels can now be rented digitally for $5.99 and purchased digitally for $14.99 on all of the platforms listed above.

Ordinary Angels was embraced by critics and audiences, earning an 84 percent “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 96 reviews. The film also has a stellar 99 percent positive Audience Score on the review aggregation site based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings.

Since it is a faith-based movie intended for a family audience, Ordinary Angels is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association for “thematic content, brief bloody images and smoking.”
