Is it Practical and Easy to Transport?
For such a large and versatile seat-cover system (which is what it really is, a “system”) it folds away nicely. For all its durable construction, the cover itself is thin and the zippers and creases allow it to fold up easily or remove some of the cover pieces. It’s a large cover with many flaps and straps, so take note of how it’s folded when you unbox it. If not, the cover still folds up well, but more like the size of a folded large blanket rather than a folded towel.
How User-Friendly is Urpower 5-in-1 Convertible Dog Car Seat Cover?
There is a bit of a learning curve, but that’s part of the nature of a 5-in-1 seat cover. It took us a minute to figure out the various ways to install it, as we tested it on both a full-size pickup (Ford F-150) and a subcompact crossover (Mazda CX-30). Once we installed it, the setup made perfect sense, but it does take a moment to orient what side of the massive cover you’re looking at.
The plastic snaps are right in the middle of the strap, which puts them directly behind the headrest. This will be easy to access from the rear, but makes for a tight fit in a full-size truck, where the rear headrests are right up against the rear window. Once snapped, the strap is easily adjustable to fit your vehicle.
Is this a Quality Product?
Ordering a product online is a bit of stepping into the unknown and we did not know what to expect from this seat cover. We were pleased to find it had outstanding build quality. The stitching appears secure and the materials are extremely durable. This product appears to be ready for a lifetime of mud, claws and paws.
Our Verdict:
If you take your dog in multiple cars, this is a fantastically versatile product. It can accommodate a full-size pickup truck, a sedan or a compact crossover. The modular design takes the headache out of modifying it for different applications and the screen area allows you to see your furry friend—as well as reducing obstruction of the rearview mirror. But this system is a Jack of All Trades, and while it’s a master of some, it won’t fit perfectly in every vehicle.
