2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
With the Mustang Mach-E back in production, Ford is dropping prices across the lineup.  Ford

Following several months of closed order books, the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV and its assembly lines came humming back to life on Wednesday. With production resuming, the American automaker announced new lower prices and longer upgrades, a win-win for consumers.

Lower Across the Board

As of Wednesday, the Mach-E order website is up and running with new, lower prices across the 2023 lineup and updated specs. The base Select rear-wheel drive standard range now starts at $42,995 (previously $45,995) while the all-wheel drive (AWD) version is also $3,000 cheaper at $45,995.

The biggest drop is for the Premium models and GT AWD extended range versions: Those models are $4,000 cheaper than before. Now the most expensive GT starts just under $60,000, compared to $63,995 previously.

It’s important to note that 2023 prices at the beginning of the year before sales closed had been raised, making the 2023 Mach-E significantly more expensive than it was in 2022. Even so, deliveries were backlogged with an estimated 18- to 35-week delivery window as recently as January.

More Than a Price Drop

Another slight change is range in all standard range models. The slight increase comes with new lithium iron phosphate batteries (known as LFP). Range on these models is now supposed to reach 250 miles on rear-drive and 226 for the AWD model. Previously the Select standard range rear-drive made it 247 miles on a single charge while the AWD did 224 miles.

The LFP batteries make for fast charging (and to full 100% capacity). Ford claims DC fast charging will take 33 minutes—5 minutes faster than previously—to go from 10% to 80% charged.

Additionally, all new Mach-Es have the latest version of BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free advanced driving system. BlueCruise 1.2 will be available for a free 90-day trial before opting into a subscription. The LFP-powered Mach-Es and all versions of the electric SUV qualify for half of the new federal tax credit for electric and other clean vehicles, offering a $3,750 subsidy.
