In a bid to get more drivers into electric cars and charging at home, Hyundai is offering deals on home chargers.

On Thursday the Korean carmaker announced a free EV home charging unit and installation credits up to $600. The ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 EV Charger is valued at $549 for a combined $1,100 value.

The freebies only come with purchases or leases of the new 2023 and 2024 Ioniq 5 compact SUV, Ioniq 6 sport sedan and 2023 Kona Electric. Those are Hyundai’s all-electric options that start at $33,550.

To receive the promo, customers need a coupon code from Hyundai Motor Finance and need to register the vehicle on the online Hyundai Home Marketplace. That will connect customers to Electrum Energy Advisors to set up a home installation for the Level 2 chargers. The 240 volt system expedites charging time and takes about 4 hours to reach an 80% charge on the Ioniq 5.

The complimentary services are an attempt to get customers familiar with Hyundai Home, a division introduced last year that goes beyond EVs with solar panels and energy storage options. Hyundai’s EVs no longer qualify for a federal tax credit under new manufacturing and battery sourcing requirements.
