Inside A Skier’s Dream Steps From The Slopes In Colorado’s Beaver Creek

What distance to the runs qualifies a residence as ski-in/ski-out? How about 10 steps from the equipment locker to the slopes?

Welcome to the McCoy Peak building in the Colorado resort town of Beaver Creek. With a massive stone fireplace and windows looking out on the trails, its soaring wood-beamed lobby evokes the best of the grand National Park lodges.

“The McCoy Peak building fosters a vibrant community primarily of extended families who enjoy yearly stays during both summer and ski seasons,” says Dana Correia of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. “Many residents leverage a seasonal rental program for peak periods, ensuring optimal utilization of their properties. This fosters a diverse mix of domestic and international ownership.”

Correia currently has a McCoy Peak listing for a three-bedroom unit priced at just under $6.4 million. Accessed by private elevator, the single-level residence takes in panoramic views of Beaver Creek from the open-plan main living spaces, where a corner fireplace and wood floors add a hygge vibe.

A deck off the living room contains an outdoor fireplace and grill. A granite breakfast bar with a sink separates the center island kitchen from the dining area.

Within the 2,847-square-foot interior are a primary suite with vaulted ceilings and a sitting area, junior suite with deck access, wood-walled bunk room with built-ins and laundry room. A nook in the primary bathroom contains a soaking tub with a view. In total there are two full bathrooms, a three-quarter bathroom and a powder room.

The turnkey residence at 62 Highlands Lane in Beaver Creek is being offered fully furnished. The building has a heated parking garage, and the unit comes with one parking spot.

Two outdoor hot tubs provide a spot to unwind after a day outdoors. The in-house concierge hosts a hors d'oeuvres and drinks event for owners during the winter. Residents also can use the swimming pool and hot tubs at the neighboring Highlands Lodge.

Among recent sales in the 1995 building was a four-bedroom and den unit for a record-breaking $2,216 per square foot in which Correia represented the buyer.

“The real estate market is currently experiencing a decrease in transaction volume, yet housing prices remain resilient, primarily due to the influx of cash buyers,” he says. “We are observing a notable slight increase in the availability of high-quality properties and anticipate this trend to continue toward the spring and summer months.”

With skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice skating, Beaver Creek is a winter sports enthusiast’s mecca. During other times of the year, outdoor yoga, hiking, golfing, horseback riding, bike riding and 4x4 tours are all within easy reach. Summer also sees outdoor concerts and movie nights.

“Beaver Creek isn't just a resort,” Correia says, “it's an experience.”
