Acura ILX Overview
The ILX is a premium sedan for the budget-conscious, offering a 2.4-liter powertrain and overall performance that’s mostly identical to the Honda Civic it’s based on, but throwing in a range of higher-end features as relatively low-cost upgrades.
At its max price in the low $30,000 range, the ILX A-Spec includes factory navigation, an ELS sound system, a multi-view rearview camera, and an array of active safety features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning. Those features became available last year, however, and with no differences at all between the 2020 and 2019 editions, the ILX seems like a model waiting for a more substantial refresh.
Trim Specifications
The ILX’s three available upgrades focus on features and cosmetics rather than performance, including smartphone connectivity and blind-spot detection for the Premium package, factory navigation (with an 8-inch display) for the Technology package, and gloss black body accents and 18-inch wheels for the A-spec package (which requires picking the Technology or Premium package as well).
