FIAT 500L Overview
The 500L, still in its first generation, is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, the same engine under the hood of the smaller 500 Abarth. While the engine does not lend to a punchy drive experience compared with its performance-oriented sibling, the 500L’s size allows for superior utility. Passengers get 40 inches of leg room in the front and nearly 37 inches in the back (the second-row slides for even more space). It’s 60/40-splitting rear seats also offer plenty of cargo-loading flexibility (there’s 68 cubic feet of stowage with the back seats down). It’s also agile enough to navigate tight urban quarters and can will easily find parking in crowded environments.
