Hyundai Venue Overview
The Hyundai Venue is an all-new entry-level vehicle aimed at the young and first-time buyers looking for an affordable package with modern tech features and a design that stands out. It is Hyundai’s smallest SUV, at about five inches shorter than the Kona, and it will initially be available in SE, SEL and Denim trims with a starting price of less than $20,000.
The front-drive only mini pairs either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission to a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. The Venue with the manual transmission is EPA rated for 30mpg combined, 27mpg city and 35mpg highway. The CVT equipped model offers slightly improved efficiency earning EPA ratings of 32mpg combined, 30mpg city, and 34mpg highway.
Though it looks the part, the Venue is more a tall hatchback at heart than true SUV. Still, with a small footprint, low price and stylish interior, the Venue looks poised to hit all the marks that matter in this segment.
Trim Specifications
The Venue SE comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, a welcome addition to the segment. An 8.0-inch infotainment unit with Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard. Four-speaker audio is standard on the SE while the SEL ups the count to eight speakers. Navigation is optional on the SEL.
The Denim trim offers an exclusive denim themed interior and exterior paint with a contrasting white roof and unique trim bits. It also includes nearly every option except for the sunroof.
