Toyota C-HR Overview

The 2020 Toyota C-HR is offered in three trims: LE, XLE and Limited. All are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable transmission that delivers 144 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque. Where the powertrain lacks in excitement and, well, power, it makes up for in fuel efficiency. It achieves an EPA-estimate 27 mpg in city driving, 31 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg combined. The interior is a little cramped for both passengers and cargo; legroom for backseat riders is only 31.7 inches and cargo space is limited to 19.1 cubic-feet behind the second row, which is at the bottom of its class.

Trim Specifications

All trims come standard with and 8-inch display screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Also, standard is Toyota Safety Sense P, or TSS-P, an active safety technology package that includes a pre-collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist and automatic high beams.  The LE has 17-inch steel wheels, a polyurethane steering wheel and LED daytime running lights with halogen headlights. The XLE gets blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, auto-folding side mirrors, smart key with push-button start and available Entune 3.0. The Limited adds special badging, fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, Entune 3.0, heated front seats, driver seat lumbar, chrome window trims and black or brown leather-trimmed seats.

2018 to Present
A belated replacement for the Scion xD, which was discontinued in 2014, Toyota’s C-HR subcompact SUV debuted for the 2018 model year. Like the xD, it blends elements of both a hatchback and a small crossover and emphasizes fuel economy and standard features. C-HR stands for "Coupe High Rider."
