Honda HR-V Overview

After a substantial refresh for 2019, the 2020 Honda HR-V is still offered in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring (Sport and Touring were added last year). The HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 141 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission is the only option and while it’s better than most, sometimes feel rough and unrefined. Dual-Mode Paddle Shifters are also offered across the board with the exception of the LX. Though it’s fun and nimble to drive, the HR-V feels slow off the line. Front-wheel drive is standard, but an all-wheel drivetrain is an available upgrade across the lineup and standard on the Touring. The HR-V achieves segment-leading 28 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway. When configured with AWD it gets 27 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Trim Specifications

All trims but the base LX and Sport have Honda Sensing safety and driver-assist technology, a package that includes forward-collision warning, automatic collision braking, lane keep assist, road departure alert and adaptive cruise control. All-wheel-drive is available on all models for $1,500, and comes standard on the top Touring trim. A 60/40-splitting second row, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and Streaming Audio are also standard across the lineup as is a multi-angle rearview camera and a remote entry system. All trims but the LX have a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The base wheels for all trims are 17-inch alloys wheels, but the Sport comes standard with 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels with matte black inserts.
