  • Alan has been in the field of information security since 1974, and was one of the pioneers in the field of digital forensics. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, with experience at NASA Houston, the US Army, Chase, Ernst & Young, Yourdon, New York City’s Department of Investigation and Kroll.
  • He is the founder of Kroll’s cyber risk practice, where he serves as a Senior Managing Director.
  • He has served as an expert witness in trial, deposition and arbitrations, as well as in testimony before a congressional committee.
  • He is the author, co-author or editor of more than a dozen books and more than 100 articles in the field of information security.
  • Alan is an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s program at Texas A&M University School of Law, having previously taught in the Master of Forensic Sciences program at National University.
  • He has also served as an instructor at the NATO Center of Excellence – Defense Against Terrorism in the Terrorist Use of Cyberspace course.
  • He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and is a founding member of the Academy’s Section on Digital and Multimedia Sciences.
  • Alan is a Fellow of the Kroll Institute.
