Since 2010, Juliana has been a professional writer in the technology and small business worlds. She has both journalism and copywriting experience and is exceptional at distilling complex concepts into compelling stories. She has written for technology giants, including Oracle, Hitachi Vantara and Comcast, and she specializes in cybersecurity and cloud topics.
Juliana got her start in technology and small business writing as Managing Editor of a technology marketing firm in 2010. “Cloud computing” had just started making its way into mainstream business vernacular. She learned about the nuts and bolts of business technology in this role—covering everything from software-defined networking to data centers to cloud communication. She had the chance to meet Robert Metcalfe, the father of Ethernet, and dozens of technology leaders from companies including Salesforce, IBM, and Dell.
She took a break from the marketing world to dive into technology journalism for four years. Working for a global news start-up in New York City, she covered technology’s influence on culture. Her most memorable topics include Edward Snowden’s NSA intelligence leak, innovations in sustainable technology, the rise and impact of mobile devices in African economies, and the emergence of cryptocurrency.
After moving to California, she went back into marketing as a copywriter for businesses in the telecom and IT space. She has first-hand experience helping small businesses develop branding and messaging architecture and has enjoyed writing everything from SMB websites to in-depth data analysis reports for global cloud communications organizations. As a freelancer, she has the unique opportunity to interview and write for thought leaders across the technology landscape—covering AI, digital forensics, developments in SaaS, and more. Today, she is based in Washington State as a freelance contributor to Forbes Advisor’s small business and technology channels—lending her expertise in cybersecurity, cloud, IT, telecom, and SEO.
