After just getting word earlier this week that U.S. applicants will soon be able to apply for new Qatar Airways credit cards, we now find out that two new Avianca Airlines cards are also on their way.

Like Qatar Airways, Avianca is partnering with Cardless, a San Francisco-based fintech startup. There will be two variants, but more details have yet to be announced. Avianca—headquartered in Bogota, Colombia and a member of the Star Alliance—is a leading airline in Latin America, offering flights to more than 75 destinations in 25 countries throughout the Americas and Europe—and more than 1,300 destinations if you include alliance partners.

How To Get the Avianca Airlines Credit Cards

Those interested in applying for the new Avianca credit cards should join the waitlist. If you do, you’ll receive up to 10,000 additional Avianca LifeMiles on top of any welcome offer when you apply. 10,000 LifeMiles might not sound like a lot, but redemptions start as little as 2,700 LifeMiles for one-way flights between Bogota (BOG) and Medellin (MDE), or just over 9,000 LifeMiles for a one-way flight from Miami (MIA) to Bogota. This means you could feasibly purchase an international flight with the waitlist bonus alone.

Joining the waitlist doesn’t bind you to applying for the new cards, and it doesn’t affect your credit score or guarantee approval. It is simply so you are the first to know when the card applications go live.

Bottom Line

Cardless currently issues two LATAM Airlines Mastercards, the TAP Miles&Go American Express®* and the Simon® American Express® Credit Card. With the two new Qatar Airways cards and two new Avianca Airlines Cards, Cardless will double its current selection, signaling rapid growth for the company.

We eagerly await more information about the Avianca credit cards, including what benefits each card will have and when the applications will go live. We’re also excited to see what else Cardless has in the pipeline, as it is venturing deep into international airline partnerships.
