Young Sheldon isn’t so young anymore. The seventh and final season of “Young Sheldon,” the prequel to the popular long-running series “The Big Bang Theory,” kicks off February 15 on CBS and Paramount+. The one-hour season—and series—finale is set for May 16.

“Young Sheldon,” which made its debut in 2017, takes an endearing look at “Big Bang” star Jim Parsons’ character, Sheldon Cooper during his childhood in East Texas. There, he struggles to fit in as a math and science prodigy in a family that’s much closer to average than genius. Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro are the creators of both shows.

Like “The Big Bang Theory” before it, “Young Sheldon” has consistently been a top-rated show. “As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, ‘Young Sheldon’ proved lightning can strike twice,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “[It] brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start.”

If you’re traveling outside the U.S., viewing the latest episodes of “Young Sheldon” shouldn’t be as complicated as string theory if you use a reliable VPN service. Paramount+ will provide access to the humor and drama of “Young Sheldon” Season Seven from anywhere in the world.

‘Young Sheldon’ Season Seven

CBS Entertainment confirmed in November that this will be the final season for “Young Sheldon.” No reason was provided, but the prequel’s timeline is starting to catch up with the events of “The Big Bang Theory.” Season Seven finds Sheldon as a young teenager, at about the age the character was when he began his graduate studies at Caltech.

What Is the Plot of the New Season?

Season Seven will pick up where the previous season left off. At the close of Season Six, Sheldon and his mother, Mary, were boarding a plane to Germany, where Sheldon was scheduled to spend the summer. Meanwhile, a tornado demolishes Meemaw’s house back in Texas. George and Missy, who were heading home from dropping off Sheldon and Mary at the Houston airport, are forced to take cover in a ditch. Elsewhere, the newly engaged Georgie and Mandy shelter in a bathroom with her parents.

As Season Seven begins, “News of the tornado reaches Sheldon and Mary in Germany. Also, with the Cooper house in chaos, Missy steps up,” CBS Entertainment says in a news release.

Some “Young Sheldon” watchers think Season Seven will see Sheldon enrolling at Caltech in Pasadena, California, where he would eventually work. Others speculate that Sheldon’s father will die during the final season, as viewers of “The Big Bang Theory” know that he’s no longer alive.

Stay tuned, though: A spinoff, possibly featuring Georgie and Mandy, may be in the works. But so far, creator Chuck Lorre has not confirmed anything.
