How To Use United Club Business Card’s Price Protection Benefit

To use price protection through your eligible Chase card, you’ll have to ensure you’re well-prepared to jump through the Chase Benefits Administrator’s several hoops.

First, make certain the purchased item and the price-drop advertisement are qualified to receive the benefit. It’s also important to make sure the advertisement for the lower price was published within 90 days of your original purchase. Chase won’t offer price protection on a long list of common exclusions, so make sure the purchase isn’t on the list.

To file a claim, you must call the Chase Benefits Administrator within 21 days of the ad’s date and request an official claim form. The number to call is 888-880-5844.

You’ll need to submit the claim form with the necessary documentation. These documents include:

  • Sales receipt
  • Receipt from your card showing the purchase was made with your United Club℠ Business card*
  • Original advertisement (either printed or digital) showing the item, advertisement date or sale, price drop and store name

You have 45 days after requesting the claim form to complete and submit it with the required documentation.

Follow the form’s instructions to submit your claim online, or mail your paperwork to the Benefit Administrator.

Your account will receive a reimbursement of the lesser portion of the purchase you put on your card or the protection limit if your claim is approved. In other words: If your claim is approved, you’ll be awarded the amount of the purchase put on your credit card, but only up to the $500 protection limit of the benefit.

What Qualifies for Chase Price Protection

Any portion of a purchase made in the U.S. charged to an eligible card qualifies for price protection. A $500 per-item maximum applies, and you’ll only be reimbursed if a claim is made within 90 days of the date you originally purchased the item. The benefit is capped at $2,500 per account in a calendar year.

For price-drop advertisements, the protection coverage is at a maximum of $50 per item and $150 annually.

Common Chase Exclusions to Price Protection

Not all purchases will qualify for reimbursement. Here’s a list of purchases that don’t qualify:

  • Plants and animals
  • Boats, cars and boating or auto accessories and equipment
  • Cellphone contracts
  • Price-quote advertisements and bids or final sales from non-auction sites
  • Items returned to a store
  • Layaway purchases
  • Pre-owned or refurbished goods

Advertisements for flea markets, fire sales, seasonal, limited quantity, auction sales or discounted products do not qualify for Chase price protection.
