Small business owners may have a savings tool in their wallets that they don’t know about: their Visa cards. Visa SavingsEdge provides rewards in the form of purchase discounts to Visa Business cardholders for eligible business purchases. Each reward gives an automatic discount that shows up as a statement credit. Best of all, no coupons or codes are required to receive discounts or rewards.

How Visa SavingsEdge Works
Eligible cards include Visa Business cards and select Visa Commercial Prepaid cards. Cardholders can enroll on the SavingsEdge website by entering their name, email and 16-digit card number. Business owners or authorized users can enroll up to 10 business cards per account.
SavingsEdge has partnered with a number of participants. Discounts vary widely depending on the terms between Visa and the merchant. Enrolled cardholders can identify participating merchants by checking the SavingsEdge website.
Discounts for eligible purchases usually apply to the entire cost of the service or item, including taxes and shipping costs. Purchases made online, in person, via phone or mail are all eligible for discounts. However, it’s best to check the terms of each offer to verify any details. Purchases made using four-digit pins are not eligible for discounts, even if the card is enrolled. Make sure to reject pin requests and opt to sign for purchases instead. Purchases also can be made via contactless payment options.
Keep in mind that savings and rewards apply as future statement credits. Sometimes a credit won’t be applied until the next billing cycle, so don’t worry if the discount doesn’t appear in an online statement right away.
SavingsEdge Offers
Offers can change at any time so it’s important to keep track of current offers by checking the SavingsEdge website. SavingsEdge has two types of rewards: Everyday Savings and Instant Savings.
Everyday Savings
Everyday Savings are automatically available to every cardholder after enrollment. Even as offers change and new merchants are added, Everyday Savings will be applied to every purchase made with a participating merchant. Merchants range in category from auto to dining to business products and services. Some merchants have reward limits on offers in the form of either annual maximums or card lifetime maximums. Read each merchant’s terms carefully to find out whether a reward limit exists.

Bottom Line
Visa’s SavingsEdge program allows any Visa business cardholder to receive rewards for business purchases at a variety of select vendors, but registration is required. Everyday Savings are automatically applied to each enrolled card, but cardholders must individually sign up for Instant Savings offers that are available for a limited time. Whether the time spent chasing rewards will be worth a business owner’s time will require research and time.
