Steps To Check LIC Policy Status For New Users- Online

In order to check the policy status, the new users have to undergo a registration process, in the way given below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official webpage of LIC website and click the “online service”.
  • Step 2: Then go to “customer portal” under the e-service page.
  • Step 3: Click on “new user” for the sign-up process.
  • Step 4: Fill in the details of the online registration form.
  • Step 5: Choose a username and password.
  • Step 6: Once the registration is successfully completed, the user receives a verification email in the registered mail id.  
  • Step 7: Post the verification, the new user can now check any policy related information from their new account.

Password Guidelines

  1. Passwords should be minimum of six characters and maximum of 16 characters. –
  2. Must have at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one numeric and one special character.
  3. Special characters allowed such as !, @, #, $, %, &, *, (, ),_
  4. Passwords should not have your first name.
  5. Passwords cannot start with any kind of special character.
  6. Passwords must be exceptional and to be kept private.

Steps To Check LIC Policy Status For Registered Users- Online

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of LIC and click on “customer portal” under online services.
  • Step 2: On the log-in page select the “registered user” option.
  • Step 3: Log in with your credentials such as username and password.
  • Step 4: Log-in to your account and select “view enrolled policies”.
  • Step 5: This section will showcase all your LIC policies in the dropdown menu.
  • Step 6: Select the policy of your choice and check all the details of the selected policy.
  • Step 7: The status and all the necessary information regarding your policy will be displayed.

How to Enroll The Policy on LIC Portal?

There is also a separate process if the user wants to enroll their LIC policy on the online portal. Below are steps which needed to be followed to enroll the policy on LIC portal:

  • Step 1: Log into the official website of LIC.
  • Step 2: Go to “LIC policy enrolment form”.
  • Step 3: Fill the form online or take a printout, whatever suits you.
  • Step 4: The policyholder can fill the enrolment form and provide the valid policy number.
  • Step 5: Enter the details such as date of birth, premium amount and number of premium installments already paid.
  • Step 6: Submit this form online, or give it to the nearest branch of LIC.
  • Step 7: If approved, you will get a notification from LIC and a letter of acknowledgement.

How to Check the Status of LIC Policy Without Online Services

Check the Status of LIC Policy Via SMS Service:

To view the LIC policy status via SMS, you have to text “ASKLIC” and enter the enquiry code. Then you can send this SMS from your registered mobile number, to numbers like “9222492224” or “56767877”.

  • Installment Premium- ASKLIC PREMIUM
  • Revival amount- ASKLIC REVIVAL
  • Bonus additions- ASKLIC BONUS
  • Amount of loan available- ASKLIC LOAN
  • Nomination details- ASKLIC NOM

For instance, to verify the status of a policy without having to register, the policyholder can SMS ASKLIC<policy number>STAT to 56767877 from your registered phone number. And, if your number is not registered with LIC, then you will get an error message. 

Check the Status of LIC Policy Via Call Centre: 

The LIC has a very responsive integrated voice response system which is popularly known as IVRS. It consists of robust call centers which work around the clock to help its users. For  instance, BSNL & MTNL users can dial 1251 and other network users can dial the city code followed by 1251.

This IVRS system is almost present in every city of India which is divided into eight zones:

  1. East Zone
  2. West Zone
  3. South Zone
  4. North Zone
  5. East Central Zone
  6. West Central Zone
  7. South Central Zone
  8. North Central Zone
