About Knose Pet Insurance

Knose Pet Insurance is a dedicated pet insurance and routine care plan provider. Founded in 2017, the company is based in Sydney with its insurance policies underwritten by Pacific International Insurance Pty Limited.

Its straightforward pet insurance offering is available for both cats and dogs, with the two policies almost identical. Knose also offers pet care plans for pet owners looking for an alternative to insurance, with these care plans ranging from $25.95 to $33.95 per month with no lock in contract for a medium-sized dog. These care plans often cover the check-ups and routine care that many insurance policies don’t, such as parasite protection (worming, flea and tick treatment), and  vet care allowances for check-ups.

To compare pet insurance policies throughout Australia, Forbes Advisor looked at the most comprehensive offerings from providers. As Knose Pet Insurance splits its policy between one for dogs and one for cats, the following review is in regard to data analysed on the dog insurance policy. However, as noted, the Knose Pet Insurance Cat Policy is practically identical, meaning both dog and cat owners can benefit from reading this review.

Knose Pet Insurance is highly regarded by its customers, scoring 4.6 stars from hundreds of reviews on ProductReview.

What’s Covered With Knose Pet Insurance?

Knose Pet Insurance offers its policyholders an up to 90% reimbursement rate for veterinary bills. Upon taking out the policy, customers can choose between a reimbursement rate of 70%, 80% or the highest limit of 90%.

The standard maximum annual claim limit for most Australian pet insurance providers is $15,000 per year, however, Knose Pet Insurance offers its customers a choice of between $7,500, $12,500 the much higher claim limit of $25,000. Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer its customers a GapOnly service, so veterinary costs must be paid at the time of visit and then reimbursed via submitting a claim.

Like most pet insurance providers in Australia, routine cover is not automatically included within a Knose Pet Insurance Policy. Instead, PetCare plans are offered separately on a month-to-month basis for services such as flea, tick protection and credits towards vaccinations and check-ups.

A key feature of Knose Pet Insurance is its 24/7 Pet Health Hotline which is available at all times to address customer queries regarding their pet. The hotline is staffed by a registered vet nurse to help pet owners understand if their pet needs urgent veterinary care.
