Travel Insurance Plans from iTravelInsured

The iTravelInsured plans are offered through IMG, a company that specializes in travel insurance.

Plans for iTravelInsured offer a variety of travel insurance benefits such as trip cancellation, lost baggage and travel delay coverage, to name just a few. Plans are available for vacationers, adventure travelers and people on a budget.

ITravelInsured’s Travel SE plan (above) is its highest-rated policy based on our analysis of the best travel insurance policies. The iTravelInsured SE plan comes at a great average price for solid benefits. It provides $250,000 in medical expense travel insurance, and $500,000 in medical evacuation insurance. It also includes generous travel delay coverage of $2,000 per person, but only after a 12-hour delay.

ITravelInsured’s Travel LX plan: If you file a trip interruption or trip delay claim, this policy includes reimbursement for additional pet kennel costs if you arrive home at least 12 hours later than scheduled. The coverage provides $100 per day up to a maximum of $500 per pet.

The Travel LX policy is a good option if you want the most protection and don’t mind paying for it. It provides $2,500 per person for travel delay and for lost baggage. Trip interruption insurance covers 150% of the cost of your excursion. Emergency medical coverage provides $500,000 per person and emergency medical evacuation is $1 million per person. “Cancel for any reason” (CFAR) and “interruption for any reason” (IFAR) coverage are available as optional upgrades.

ITravelInsured Travel LX Basic plan: The Travel LX Basic plan includes many of the features in the LX plan including the “cancel for any reason” upgrade. Medical expenses, medical evacuation, search and rescue, and natural disaster evacuation are all covered in this plan.

ITravelInsured Travel Lite plan: Travel Lite is geared toward budget travelers. Trip interruption coverage is 125% of trip cost, compared to the standard 150%. While the plan’s $100,000 per person medical expense coverage is much less than the Travel LX plans, it’s decent for a standard policy. The same goes for its evacuation benefits of $500,000 per person. This plan also provides coverage for travel and baggage delay.

ITravelInsured Travel Sport plan: The Travel Sport plan is an adventure sports policy that is good for both foreign and domestic travel for thrill seekers age 65 and younger. Benefits include search and rescue and sports equipment rental reimbursement. Trip delays, baggage delays and emergency accident and sickness medical expenses are covered. The trip interruption maximum benefit is 125% of the trip cost.

ITravelInsured Travel GT: The Travel GT plan is a group plan for 10 or more travelers. Benefits include trip cancellation reimbursement up to $30,000 and interruption coverage up to 125% of trip cost. There’s also $600 in coverage for trip delays per person (after a 12-hour delay) and $100,000 for emergency medical evacuation.

In addition to the above, IMG offers:

  • Single-trip travel medical insurance plans for groups, families and individuals
  • International health insurance plans for individuals and families
  • Medical insurance for students studying abroad or in cultural exchange programs
  • Travel medical insurance for missionaries and seniors

IMG iTravelInsured Travel Insurance Frequently Asked Questions

Do iTravelInsured Travel Insurance Plans Cover Covid?

ITravelInsured has plans that include coverage for Covid-related trip cancellation and medical expenses. The Travel SE, Travel Lite, Travel LX and Travel LX Basic plans all have Covid coverage.

If you get Covid right before your vacation and have to cancel, these plans will reimburse you for 100% of what you lose in prepaid and non-refundable deposits. These plans also cover Covid-related medical costs while you’re on vacation.

Do iTravelInsured’s travel insurance plans cover pre-existing medical conditions?

Pre-existing medical condition exclusion waivers are available from iTravelInsured. Check your plan’s details to confirm this coverage. Having this waiver means that pre-existing conditions won’t be excluded from your coverage.

Do iTravelInsured travel insurance plans have “cancel for any reason” coverage?

IMG’s iTravelInsured offers “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) travel insurance upgrades on some of its plans.

“Cancel for any reason” coverage gives you the choice to cancel for a reason not listed in the plan’s base trip cancellation reasons. For example, you could cancel your trip because you have changed your mind about traveling.

Make sure to check the rules for CFAR for the plan you’re buying. For example, iTravelInsured’s Travel LX plan will reimburse you for 75% of your trip costs under a CFAR claim. You must buy the “cancel for any reason” upgrade within 20 days of making your initial trip deposit. And to make a CFAR claim you must cancel at least two days before your departure date.
