Trawick Travel Insurance Frequently Asked Questions

Do Trawick travel insurance plans cover Covid?

Trawick has plans that include coverage for Covid-related trip cancellation and medical expenses: Safe Travels First Class, Safe Travels Journey, Safe Travels Voyager, Safe Travels Explorer Plus and Safe Travels Explorer.

If you get Covid right before your trip and have to cancel your vacation, these plans will reimburse you for 100% of what you lose in pre-paid and non-refundable deposits. And if you get Covid during your trip, these plans can cover associated medical costs.

Do Trawick’s travel insurance plans cover pre-existing medical conditions?

Pre-existing medical condition exclusion waivers are available from Trawick. Make sure to check your plan’s details to confirm this coverage.

Having this waiver means that pre-existing conditions won’t be excluded from your coverage. For example, Trawick’s Safe Travels First Class plan will cover pre-existing conditions if you buy the plan within 14 days of your initial trip deposit. You also must insure the full value of your non-refundable trip costs and you must have been medically able to travel when you bought the plan.

Do Trawick plans have “cancel for any reason” coverage?

Trawick provides the option to upgrade to “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) coverage on some of its plans, but not all. For example, Trawick’s Safe Travels First Class and Safe Travels Voyager both offer the option of CFAR coverage.

With “cancel for any reason” coverage, you get the option to cancel your trip for a reason not listed in the plan’s base trip cancellation reasons. For example, you could cancel your trip because you have developed a fear of travel.

Make sure to check the rules for CFAR for the plan you’re buying. For example, the Safe Travels First Class plan will reimburse you for 75% of your trip costs under a CFAR claim. You must buy the “cancel for any reason” upgrade within 10 days of making your initial trip deposit. And to make a CFAR claim you must cancel at least two days before your departure date.
