What Is Jobvite?

Jobvite is a talent acquisition platform that includes:

  • Branded career site
  • Syndicated job posting
  • Applicant tracking system (ATS) + Onboarding
  • Candidate relationship management (CRM)
  • Candidate screening
  • Scheduling and interviewing tools
  • Onboarding
  • Reporting and analytics

Additional features, such as automatic candidate matching and recruitment marketing, are available in higher price tiers.

How Jobvite Works

Jobvite Evolve Talent Acquisition platform enables you to set up a customized, branded career site to tell your company’s story, display job vacancies and more. Jobvite also has one centralized interface to manage the job boards where your job postings appear.

Once applications come in, Jobvite’s ATS has automated features to ensure you keep candidates informed and moving through the pipeline. Communicating with potential and current candidates is key. Jobvite’s CRM and candidate messaging help you interact one-on-one or send bulk messages via email or text.

Jobvite doesn’t only offer tools for prospective employees but for existing employees as well. Jobvite has an internal job board to keep your current employees informed of the latest job opportunities that fit their professional goals and skill set. Jobvite’s internal referral system also enables you to tap into your current employees’ professional networks to hire even more qualified talent.

What Sets Jobvite Apart

Job Broadcasting Tool

Jobvite’s broadcasting tool makes your job posting process more targeted, relevant and efficient. It posts to job boards that are relevant for the position automatically. So, for instance, an account job requisition might post to the big job boards automatically but also to niche, accounting-specific job boards as well.

The broadcasting tool also automatically applies a state’s job transparency to a job posting to ensure your job post is compliant with the laws in a state you’re hiring in.

Last but not least, Jobvite’s broadcasting tool refreshes posts automatically at regular intervals, so they always appear at the top of job seekers’ search results without needing to create or modify a job post manually.

AI Assistance

Jobvite has AI tools built in through its platform to assist your hiring team with repetitive tasks, finding and engaging with candidates at scale and more. Here are the different ways you’ll find AI in action in the Jobvite Evolve Talent Acquisition platform:

  • Career site: AI helps career site visitors find job openings at your company that match their background and skills.
  • Internal job board: Current employees get personalized internal job opportunity recommendations based on their skills, location, search history and flight risk.
  • Recruitment marketing: Jobvite’s AI proactively builds up a talent pool to tap into. It knows which messages to send to which candidates, at what time to alert them of new job openings and encourage them to apply. In this way, it can optimize your targeted text campaigns by enabling scheduled, tailored and sequenced messages at scale. This feature is available starting in the CRM package.
  • Candidate relationship management: Segment the talent in your database by location, skills, interests and other factors that inform Intelligent Messages sent to candidates via email, text, the web or social media.
  • Intelligent messaging: AI powers not only candidate outreach in recruitment marketing and candidate relationship management but also the ability to field commonly asked questions in the career site chatbot or prescreen candidates automatically.
  • Candidate matching: AI automatically surfaces the top candidates for any given job, so you don’t have to waste time reading and ranking resumes. This feature is available starting in the CRM package.

Features That Support Your Company’s DE&I Values

Jobvite helps support your values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) through its Job Description Grader and Bias Blocker, both of which come standard in all plans:

  • Job Description Grader: This feature gives you insights into how to write better, more inclusive job descriptions based on AI, industry benchmarks and best DE&I practices.
  • Bias Blocker: The Bias Blocker redacts applicants’ identifying information, such as their name, from their resumes to mitigate bias in the hiring process.

Jobvite Features

The main features of Jobvite’s platform include a career site, syndicated job posting and more.

Career Site

Jobvite has a built-in content management system (CMS) to configure a career site that reflects your brand and culture. It supports multiple languages and even multiple brands for larger corporations. You can post and edit blog posts or dynamic content, such as video and even have different content appear for various visitor audiences.

For example, if your company operates in different countries, a visitor’s internet protocol (IP) address being located somewhere in the United States can direct them to the U.S. landing page as opposed to a landing page for a specific European, Asian, African or Latin American country.

Once you get your job site set up, visitors can search and apply filters to your job openings. However, an even cooler feature is that Jobvite’s career site is equipped with an AI-powered guide to help site visitors find the right job for them and receive personalized recommendations.

For example, the site can suggest job openings by the visitor’s location. If the visitor uploads their resume, the site can generate even more personalized job recommendations.

Job Posting

Jobvite allows you to manage all your job postings in one place, whether they appear on one or multiple job boards, including LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and ZipRecruiter.

You can also post your job openings to social media sites and Jobvite’s staffing agency partners. If you work with a staffing agency, you can communicate and manage job board spending with that agency directly through Jobvite.

No matter where you post your jobs, Jobvite’s enhanced analytics (in the CRM package) shows you where you’re sourcing most of your talent, so you don’t waste time and money posting to sites that yield few applications or less qualified candidates.

Applicant Tracking System + Onboarding

Jobvite’s ATS helps you streamline and expedite the hiring process from initial application through to onboarding. You can set up workflows to automate repetitive, manual tasks, freeing up recruiters to pursue more value-added activities.

Within the ATS, you only see the top candidates for a given role. A “match” icon will appear next to candidates in the list whose experience and qualifications best match the job. Before viewing candidates’ resumes and personal information, you can turn on a permanent “masked view” to mitigate bias in the hiring process. Otherwise, the “masked view” feature can simply be turned on and off.

Once you decide to hire a candidate, send an offer letter easily using a template. Jobvite also has e-signature and customizable workflows to facilitate easier onboarding that can be done from the mobile app. Members of human resources (HR) or the onboarding team can monitor where new hires are in the onboarding process and send reminders if necessary.

Candidate Contact Management

Using the AI-backed features noted above, Jobvite helps you interact with candidates one-on-one or in bulk via email, text, web or social media. Regardless of the communication channel, the system keeps track of conversation history, so everyone’s on the same page about where a candidate stands.

Candidate Screening

Jobvite’s Intelligent Messaging feature can prescreen candidates via text. Alternatively, further down the pipeline, you can send invitations to conduct one-way video interviews in which the shortlisted candidates introduce themselves and answer screening questions.

Scheduling and Interviewing Tools

Jobvite facilitates easy self-scheduling. You first assign interviewers and the system populates their calendar availability automatically. You then select specific time slots available and deploy the email invitation template to the candidate. Once the candidate selects from one of the time slots, Jobvite automatically sends an email that contains a Zoom or Teams link.

You can also conduct one-way, pre-recorded interviews. No matter the interview method, you can set up predetermined evaluation forms to gather feedback that’s stored in the candidate’s profile.

Reporting and Analytics

Jobvite provides more than 60 standard reports and enables customized report generation. Jobvite generates a Company Quarterly Hiring Benchmark Analysis, which provides context to quarter-over-quarter comparisons between your company and others of the same size and in the same industry.

Jobvite also includes customizable, interactive dashboards to track important hiring metrics, such as time to hire, time to productivity and more. You can sync data from Jobvite with external business data tools to get a better sense of how recruiting and hiring is supporting your broader business goals.

Starting with the CRM package, you can receive more detailed analytics on different aspects of the hiring process. For example, you get access to information about the candidate’s journey. That is, the sites they visited before they ever applied to your role. That way, you can more efficiently invest your time and money in certain job boards or job sites than others.

Essential

Essential is ideal for companies looking for an ATS without all the bells and whistles but with a few standout features, namely Intelligent Messaging and video screening. Essential also comes with the Bias Blocker and Job Description Grader, making DE&I features accessible to all Jobvite customers. It’s also important to note that the Essential package includes all chatbot functionalities except the Career Site chatbot.

Standard

Beyond ATS functionality, the Standard tier combines Jobvite’s ATS with candidate relationship management, including Zero-Click Intelligent Sourcing, which is Jobvite’s automatic candidate matching tool. This price tier also unlocks access to drip email marketing campaigns and the AI-powered chatbot.

Complete

A few extras that come on top of Jobvite’s ATS and CRM system are advanced versions of the employee referral system, internal job board as well as portal access for external recruiting agencies (if you use one). Jobvite’s advanced referral system enables custom referral bonus eligibility rules and gamification features. Additionally, the advanced job board in this package includes custom forms and flight risk reporting.

Additional Features Worth Noting

As noted above, Jobvite includes the Job Description Grader and Bias Blocker to support DE&I goals in your organization’s recruitment strategy. We were able to test out the Job Description Grader firsthand.

Jobvite Job Description Grader

It was easy to launch the Job Description Grader feature directly from Jobvite’s website. You enter the job title and industry and paste the job description in. The first time you try out this tool, you’ll have to enter your company information to receive feedback on your job description.

The tool then provides feedback about various aspects of your job description instantly:

  • Overall sentiment: Gauges how positive, neutral or negative the tone of your job description is compared to other similar job descriptions in your industry.
  • Word count: Helps assess whether your job description is too long or too short.
  • Readability: Measures how difficult or easy it is to understand your job description.
  • Bias and insensitivity: Picks up on words that indicate gender or racial bias as well as insensitive words.

The tool provides feedback, yet some of that feedback is unclear about whether or how we should modify our test job description. For instance, the tool shows clearly where our job description lands on the bell curve for sentiment and length.

However, our test description measures at post-college reading level, according to Jobvite’s Job Description Grader, but it didn’t say whether this is just right or too high of a reading level.

It would also be nice to get actionable recommendations. For instance, the Grader highlighted one insensitive word in our job description without providing further explanation or suggestions of what to replace the word with.

Overall, this is a great, easy-to-use tool to start thinking about how to create more inclusive job descriptions.

Internal Job Board

If you sign up for the Complete plan, employees can browse the internal job board hosted in Jobvite and notify recruiters of their interest in a particular role. By filling out a survey and creating a talent profile, Jobvite sends smart recommendations and updates on new job openings that fit their skills and interests.

Employee Referral

Under the Complete plan, Jobvite provides a way for current employees to get involved in the hiring process by sharing links to job openings on their social media networks and making referrals directly within Jobvite.

In Jobvite, they can also track their referral bonuses and the probation period of newly hired referrals. Companies can take further advantage of Jobvite’s referral mechanism by gamifying it with rewards and a leaderboard.

Jobvite Customer Service and Support

All Jobvite customers get three dedicated support team members: a project manager who oversees implementation, dedicated account manager and dedicated customer success manager. Once your system is online, support transitions mainly to the account manager and customer success manager.

Jobvite provides customer support via phone 24 hours a day, five days a week (Sundays at 11 p.m. Eastern time to Fridays at 9 p.m. ET). For self-help, customers can also consult Jobvite’s vast knowledge base. Otherwise, you can designate up to five support contacts who can submit a help ticket.

Jobvite vs. iCIMS

Jobvite and iCIMS are quite comparable in terms of what they offer and how easy they are to use. However, iCIMS has more templates to offer and outperforms Jobvite for candidate relationship management, applicant tracking and onboarding. It also provides a wider range of customer support channels than Jobvite. This can be a disadvantage with particularly pressing issues. Indeed, customers rate iCIMS’s customer service more highly than Jobvite’s.

Meanwhile, Jobvite outperforms iCIMS for recruitment marketing, interview scheduling and reporting.

Jobvite vs. Workable

Workable has transparent pricing and a free trial which empowers you to find out for yourself if it’s the right solution for your organization. Workable also has many more direct channels of customer support than Jobvite does. This may explain why user ratings of Workable’s customer support are higher than those of Jobvite’s customer service. Additionally, according to user reviews, it’s easier to use and set up

However, Jobvite has more ways to nurture relationships with candidates, compared to Workable. Plus, Jobvite integrates with more third-party software than Workable, so you may find that it fits more flexibly into your current tech stack than Workable would. Jobvite also outperforms Workable in terms of employer branding and social recruiting features.

Jobvite vs. Zoho Recruit

Zoho Recruit is upfront about its pricing, offers a free trial and even a free version of its product. With the free version, you have access to syndicated job posting, candidate management, interview scheduling and more. By providing various packages, Zoho Recruit is a more flexible solution for small businesses and their budgets. Users find that Zoho Recruit is more user-friendly and are more satisfied with Zoho Recruit’s customer support than Jobvite’s users.

Jobvite’s candidate relationship management and social recruiting features outperform Zoho Recruit. Users also praise the ATS for showing where candidates are in the hiring process. However, users note that Jobvite isn’t the most user-friendly solution.
