Our Verdict

Perelel Health is a supplement company founded by obstetrician-gynecologists. It offers supplements designed to address the specific needs of women’s bodies throughout their reproductive years. While this customized, comprehensive approach may appeal to some, others may not like taking multiple pills each day and, especially if add-on products are used, the cost involved.

Key Features

  • The company offers vitamin “support packs” tailored to each stage of the reproductive years, including support during the menstrual cycle, conception, egg freezing and any form of fetal loss, as well as packs for each of the three trimesters and postpartum.
  • Add-on options designed to work alongside the support packs are also available, including a greens powder and a urinary tract support powder, as well as daily multivitamins for women and men.
  • The subscription service offers savings of 15% per month and if you’re pregnant, the product you’re sent will automatically update as you move through your pregnancy.

Perelel Health was founded in 2020 by Alex Taylor and Victoria Thain Gioia after they found themselves frustrated with their prenatal vitamins during their own pregnancies. In conjunction with multidisciplinary doctors and practitioners in women’s health, the duo created a lineup of supplements that are tailored to the unique needs of each phase of the reproductive years.

“Most vitamins use a one-size-fits-all approach to prenatal nutrition that fails to deliver targeted nutrients for each unique stage of a woman’s hormonal lifecycle,” claims Thain Gioia. “By only using high-quality ingredients in the most bioavailable formats, Perelel’s formulations are informed by the latest medical research coupled with the proprietary insights Perelel’s founding team of doctors have gleaned from their active clinical experience.”

ProsCons

  • Some users have reported issues with the smell and taste of the supplements

How Does Perelel Health Work?

Perelel Health offers a range of supplements that it divides into categories depending on the stage of your reproductive years. It has support packs — or daily packets of vitamins — available for the following stages:

  • Menstrual cycle
  • Trying to conceive
  • First trimester
  • Second trimester
  • Third trimester
  • Postpartum
  • Motherhood
  • Egg freezing or IVF
  • In the event of reproductive loss, such as a miscarriage or stillbirth

Beyond these options, Perelel Health also offers daily multivitamin support packs for both men and women. It also offers a range of add-ons that you can purchase to further customize your vitamin routine, such as a Cycle Support Pack to help alleviate menstrual cycle-related symptoms, a powder designed to support sleep health and various supplements with aims like libido support, hormone balance support and bloat relief. Other offerings include an iron supplement, a daily probiotic and a greens powder.

To help you sort through all of the options and determine what may be appropriate for you, Perelel Health offers a quiz on its website. The quiz asks about what hormonal stage you’re in and about your period health, sleep health and libido. Other questions include whether you’re interested in optimizing your urinary tract health, taking a probiotic or trying a greens powder, and if you’d like to optimize your partner’s fertility alongside your own.

Once you’ve taken the quiz, you’ll get a roundup of product recommendations based on your responses. From there, you can decide whether to make a one-time purchase or sign up for a subscription and save. Subscription orders are sent out every 30 days unless you request otherwise. If you’re pregnant, Perelel Health will ask for your due date so your subscription gets automatically updated as you progress through your pregnancy and which support pack is appropriate changes.

How Much Does Perelel Health Cost?

Perelel Health’s products range in cost from around $22 to $58 per month, with the monthly cost varying depending on which product you select and whether you opt to make a one-time purchase or sign up for a monthly subscription. With the subscribe and save option, you can save 15% every month on most products offered by Perelel Health and get free shipping on all orders above $34.

What Experts Say

While taking a supplement blend like those offered by Perelel Health may seem like it could offer peace of mind during pregnancy, it may not be totally necessary, according to Mary Jacobson, M.D., chief medical officer at virtual women’s health practice Alpha and a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. “According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, by eating a variety of healthy foods, you should be able to get all the nutrients that you need for pregnancy from food and prenatal vitamins without taking supplement blends,” says Dr. Jacobson.

Alongside a healthy diet, prenatal vitamins are recommended for pregnant people by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Supplement blends like those offered by Perelel Health are not the same as prenatal vitamins.

Rather than deciding on your own what to take, Dr. Jacobsen recommends discussing the decision with your doctor. “Always talk to your health care provider about vitamin and supplement use, because they can advise you on the best approach for your unique needs and medical history,” says Dr. Jacobsen.

The Experience

There are a limited number of customer reviews for Perelel Health’s products available outside of the company’s website. Perelel Health is unrated on TrustPilot and it does not appear on the Better Business Bureau.

That said, on the company’s website, it is possible to search reviews on each individual product. For the Conception Support Pack, for instance, reviewers highlighted the ease and convenience of taking the vitamins since they’re packaged into daily packets, though some expressed concern about packaging waste. Other drawbacks noted included odor and taste. Overall, the Conception Support Pack received 4.8 out of 5 stars from 187 reviews on the site.
